Individual and Family Therapist
Edward K. Rhodes, M.A., LCPC obtained his Bachelor’s of Science in social and personality psychology from Duke University, and went on to obtain a Master’s in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois and has regularly consulted to a broad range of clinicians seeking treatment for their patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Prior to joining our practice, Mr. Rhodes directed an outpatient clinic, co-led an intensive outpatient substance abuse program for adolescents, trained clinical staff in the management of aggressive patients, and provided risk assessments and psychotherapy for individuals in assisted living and rehabilitation facilities, including those with acquired brain injuries from trauma or stroke.
Specialty areas of practice include individual therapy with adolescents and adults, and family therapy, with a focus on treating disorders of mood, anxiety (including trauma) and substance use, and helping families cope with such disorders when a loved one is affected. His training and therapeutic approach is cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused, with an additional emphasis on harm reduction in the treatment of substance use disorders.
